Client Experience & Safety

Prioritize client safety at all times.

Provide honest, respectful, and professional service.

Ensure clients are informed of fishing regulations, proper techniques, and safe practices.

Refrain from overbooking or overpromising results—this is fishing, not catching.
 

Legal Compliance

Operate with a valid business license and current liability insurance.

Comply with all local, state, and federal fishing laws and regulations.

Do not guide in restricted, private, or closed areas.
 

Conservation & Environmental Ethics

Practice and promote catch-and-release when appropriate.

Minimize impact on wildlife, habitats, and beaches.

Leave no trace—clean up after yourself and clients.

Participate in or support local conservation initiatives when possible.

Respect & Community

Treat clients, beachgoers, fellow guides, and local residents with respect.

Avoid conflicts and maintain professionalism, even in competitive situations.

Do not speak negatively about other guides or businesses.
 

Professional Integrity

Represent yourself and the association with honesty and transparency.

Do not engage in fraudulent, misleading, or unethical business practices.

Refrain from substance use while guiding.
 

Accountability

Accept constructive feedback and ongoing improvement.

Report any violations of this code through proper internal channels.

Understand that repeated or serious violations may result in disciplinary action or removal from the association.
